I’ve never been this sad for this long before. I just want to be happy again. I don’t even feel like myself anymore. I used to love life, but for the past 7 months, I’ve just felt consistently awful. I found myself wondering recently why life is even worth it, if each day is just a struggle to get to the next day. As in, when does it pay off? When do you get to be truly happy? And then I remembered how I felt a year ago. I was in love, and the happiest I’ve ever felt. I was excited about everything. School felt manageable, I was excited to pursue clinical psychology, and I was just happy with life. And now I almost feel like I’m graduating and doing my masters next year simply because I don’t have the courage to show my family that I need to give up. I’ve run out of emotional energy. I guess I just wonder if I can ever feel as happy as I used to again, and if so, how I get there from here…
